Case in point… Now a days we have a series of news services that filter out what is and not is news, they gave us the information that they think is more profitable to their network share holders. We also have news analyst that interpret for us what are the implications of those news in our life. We have sponsors that use the news to market their product. The government uses that news in the manner more convenient for it, and so on.
Now who was the last person that went out of its way to really understand that news. Not that many people are willing or able to research a subject matter, weight out what are the implications, analyze the information that was gathered and weight out the statements that have been said about any subject from different perspectives.
In reality everyone those not have an opinion they have the opinion that have been given to them by their parents, teacher, political party, even by their cat… until people are willing to really educate themselves beyond math, English and The Colbert Report (or in PR case La Comai) everybody is not entitled to an opinion.
Besides who was the last person that considered the opinion the KKK or Aryan Nation as valid ones, aren’t they entitled to their opinions?

Human beings are not designed to be objective. Genetic programming is biased toward survival and the most primitive part of our brains takes charge when our lives are threatened. We are biased toward reproduction as those primitive brain systems hinder the reasonable mind when there is the possibility of matting. We are and always be biased toward survival and pleasure.
Yet that does not mean that we cannot try to be unbiased on our daily lives, or at least in the things that matter.

Fact and Dates are nothing?! Fact and dates are everything! They are the ones that serve as the base of out structure of knowledge. Without the date of October 12, 1492 and the name Chris Columbus we could not perform the philosophical exercise of debating whether a piece of land eventually called America was discovered of stumbled upon. And I think that date would eventually be important for a fewer millions natives…
If we do not go thru the motions of learning facts and dates that can we perform a deeper analysis of those fact and dates. Moreover if a would-be scholar is not dedicated enough to study fact and dates how could this would be scholar develop new knowledge? Fact and dates are the base line by which we can move forward.
Granted that when try to be a wee bit objective on the issue facts and dates are not everything but are important in the formation of a critical mind and are a good exercise o develop memory and pass the time.

The excess of the revision of history would place a two expects on the dates and facts of the Holocaust one would speak of the millions of killed by the Nazi regime. While the other would state that the so called Holocaust never happened. Where does history rest, on the accepted fact and dates or on the new views presented by the revisionist.
Of course it could be the other way around. If a government does not want a massacre to be known and deny it ever happened, it is the responsibility of a revisionist to search of the dates and facts necessary to bring that event to the public eye.
The problem on all this is that a series of changing histories that accommodate to the needs of special interest groups destabilize society. But not in the kind of destabilizing that move society toward change but rather toward the fear that freezes the lab rat in place.
